Outdoor Spaces that Combine Art & Science

Wilson Landscape and Garden has been creating nature-inspired outdoor spaces since 2011, but proprietor Christine Wilson has been designing and maintaining gardens in the region for more than two decades.

Blending hardscapes—like rocks, fire pits, walls, pergolas, patios, planters and more—with the colors and textures of flowers, shrubbery and other plants allows Christine to demonstrate her artistic talent for creating one-of-a-kind outdoor living spaces and gardens.

She works directly with clients to understand their individual needs and visions while also ensuring that chosen plants are appropriate for the elevation, micro-climates, exposure, and growing conditions. Christine’s attention to detail and thoughtful analysis of a client’s requirements and expectations results in an enduring outdoor space that delights owners for years to come—not just the year it’s installed.

Whether you’re dreaming of a pollinator garden, an intimate yoga and meditation space, a certified wildlife habitat, or a luxurious outdoor entertaining space, Christine guides your garden design with tried-and-true methods to create an outdoor oasis that meets your specific needs.

Your Garden Dreams Come True…

Building Outdoor Living Spaces

Wilson Landscape and Garden specializes in creating successful outdoor living spaces from the ground up. That means analyzing existing soil content and bringing in proper amendments to ensure long-term soil health, appropriate water and nutrient absorption, and resistance to pests and disease. This is a strategy that also maximizes investment in plants and other materials.

Christine recognizes the importance of building a solid foundation for plants to thrive in the short and sometimes harsh growing seasons of the San Juan region. She also guides clients in selecting appropriate native plants adapted for this area of the state for certified pollinator and wildlife habitat.

Edible and Fruitful Landscapes, Too

Wilson Landscape and Garden also consults on greenhouse and vegetable garden design. Christine enjoys incorporating edible plants like chokecherry, raspberry, and currants into an environmentally-friendly aesthetically pleasing landscape with non-edible plants.

If you’re planning a new edible garden, or want to improve an existing vegetable garden with organic soil enhancements, defensive—yet attractive—fencing to keep out wildlife, or protective measures against wind and hail, Christine can help.

For clients with fruit trees, Christine offers expertise and guidance for pruning and care to keep them healthy.

Christine Wilson

Christine is a Colorado Master Gardener® and former botany field specialist who applies her extensive knowledge and love of plants to create distinctive outdoor spaces for clients. Her garden designs satisfy both form and function and her philosophy is that each garden space be as unique as its owner.

Christine finds inspiration while hiking in the backcountry, observing plants in their native habitats. She especially loves working with landscapes that reflect the natural environment and specific ecology of a property. A five-year project helped her become proficient at identifying native plants of SW Colorado and Mexico. She is also co-designer of a botanical garden in Mexico.

She has been an organic vegetable gardener since 1994.
